Our Montecucco Sangiovese DOCG is made from grapes from the vineyard with the same name, located at about 500 meters above sea level, fermented and aged for 14 months in large Slavonian oak vats. Elegant wine with structure, characterized by hints of red fruit with notes of underbrush, fresh and savoury, persistent on the palate, goes best with the great first courses of the Tuscan tradition, roasted meats and cheeses. 14% Vol
La Banditaccia is an organic farm located at the slopes of Monte Amiata, sacred to the Etruscans, close to the ancient village of Monicello Amiata, with amazing 360 degree views of the nearby Val d'Orcia and other Tuscan landscapes of the area. First traces of the farm and of its main house can be found in 1700 Granduke Leopold maps. Its purpose has always been the production of wine, in the Montecucco area, and olive oil, in the Seggiano area, a part of Tuscany which is world-renowned for its excellence. The business was recently taken over and relaunched with great passion by the Petrecca family, who has always been in love with Tuscany, and who, staring from the beautiful vineyards and century-old olive trees, has renewed the products and expanded to other crops. Quality and reliability have been, right from the start, their main focus. In addition to the excellent wines and extra virgin olive oil, the farm also produces lavender essential oil and, very soon to come, precious and fragrant truffles as well as all the products deriving from them. The high-level hospitality in the charming and comfortable rooms of the farmhouse together with an exquisite gourmet breakfast are the perfect match for a unique and relaxing stay.
